ADDED 2/4/13: THE ABCs OF DEATH
WHAT IS UZIFISH?
UziFish is a movie review website focusing on films that aren't well known by the general public. These are usually films that used to go by the moniker of "b-movies" but are now more typically known as "independent", "low budget" or "niche" films.
Because for big Hollywood films with multi-million dollar marketing budgets, a movie reviewer is completely irrelevant - or, as Grandma used to say, "as useless as a fish with an Uzi". (Granny was a cantankerous old cuss.) After you've seen a film's trailer or commercial for the 567th time, you have a pretty good idea what it's about and if you're interested, you're going to see it regardless of what any reviewer says about it.
That, and all of the good domain names were already taken.
WHY DO YOU NEED UZIFISH?
Because there are many other movies you may have heard of but know little about. Most of them suck, but some are really quite good and I want to help you figure out which ones are worth watching.
All movies reviewed on UziFish are listed on the right, and you can click on each title for the full review. Some of the movies are brilliant. Plenty are crap. A few are brilliant crap. And for each film, there's a section under the review where you can share your own comments about how brilliant and/or crappy it is.
ABOUT THE REVIEWER
I love movies, especially obscure low-budget films. To me, watching them is like panning for gold: I sift through a lot of muck, but when I find that one special nugget, it makes all the effort worthwhile. I've been a Netflix subscriber since 2001 and have rated over 2700 movies on the site. The first DVD I ever got from them was Hollow Man. No, my taste hasn't improved since then.
I don't write professionally for a living, which will become very obvious once you've read a couple of my reviews. I am, however, completely honest with my opinions and usually try to liven up my reviews with a little bit of humor.
I also run Streaming Soon, a site that tells Netflix subscribers what's coming to Netflix's Watch Instantly streaming video service.
